Algoma  RTO General Meeting: Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 12 noon

  1. Call to Order and Welcome- G. Manley

      Welcome to new members- Kari Lustig, Rino Zorzi and Lynne Allen

  1.  President's Report:

a. Welcome to new members and guest, Emily Noble

b. RTO Bags- gift on behalf of the District- extra bags available at the door and luncheons are being subsidized this year by the District

c. At the Dec. 1 Executive meeting, it was decided that we would support a Service to Others request for funding from RTO for the Lions Club Vision Screening program in which we are involved.

d. A committee has started work on a Celebration of our 80+ members with a reception to be held in the spring

e. Retirement Planning Workshop- Sat. Jan. 30, 2010 with over 60 people signed up to attend

f. RTO District 3 Scholarships: $500 to Sault College and $500 to Algoma University- criteria- “For a second year full-time student who ha demonstrated a significant commitment to volunteering in our community over the last 18 months”

g. Davey Home Tuck Shop: Thank you to those who volunteered for our allotted times in November and December. We are looking to increasing our commitment to another time slot, likely in May.

h. CAS Flyer requesting  assistance in their Residential Assistance program is on the tables.

i. Motion: That Algoma RTO donate $500 to the Canadian Red Cross for Haitian relief.
